Yesterday’s post was so long that when it arrived in email form you had to click at the end to see more – I hope you found that. That’s a problem when there is so much to mention and show. Today with, browning arms below the T-shirt sleeves and, a sense of excited anticipation I took a transfer car to the Buquebus ferry station ready for a one-day return trip to western Uruguay. At 8.15am I was headed to the historic town of Colonia del Sacramento on a ferry taking about an hour to cross the Rio de la Plata. I didn’t expect to be back in Argentina until after 6pm but it was around 6.30 at peak hour when we returned. It was another beautiful blue-sky day.
I am going to have to write today’s discoveries about the connections with the Portuguese that are concentrated on Colonia, another time; it is now after 8.30pm and I must be up tomorrow at 4.30 am and gone soon after. Before then I must get everything back into my suitcase.
